Sleepy Hollow
St Johns, MI
Our return to Sleepy Hollow and the first time during 'summer'. I had just gotten the Ford back with the new hitch on it and wanted to try it out on a trip close to home. So we loaded up on Saturday and headed over. This is a nice little park.. dense growth makes each site private. There are great hiking trails around the park. Down the road there is affordable firewood. Pretty much everything you could want.
Swimming in the lake is o.k. It is a man made lake and when it is busy the water gets stirred up and murky.. but when there are only a few people around it is fairly clear. It has a sandy bottom and a nice beach.. overall a nice park close to home.

Yankee Springs - Deep Lake 5/25/07
Deep Lake
Hastings, MI
In one week I stayed in a hotel in Mid-Town Manhattan and it the woods with no water or power. It is Memorial Day weekend.. so that means... RAIN! Yes.. it rained on and off for the whole weekend.. I took the screen tent. I love this park.. Did some hiking and swimming (at Gun Lake) and just generally enjoyed ourselves in spite of the rain.

Hmm... seems my pictures were not posting... So I got them all caught up.. although they are out of sequence.. I am sure you, the educated reader, will be about to figure it out.
